While I think that Marks and company are complete fools and liars regarding vaccine development, safety, testing and COVID response, I don't want to dismiss the lack of engagement of Congress for the last 20+ years. Congress can fix most of this mess if they had the appetite and desire. But they have failed to correct the course. Congress allowed Industry to write the legislation to create The PREP Act. Even Sen Ted Kennedy warned Sen Bill Frist on the floor of the Senate that this was a colossal mistake that will come back to haunt us. Congress again allowed Industry to write legislation to create the CICP back in 2009-2010 to provide very limited compensation from the H1N1 vaccine that was quickly developed during the Obama Admin. very similar timeframe and testing to the COVID-19 jabs.
